Hi and I'm almost done!

I'm Elspeth and I have been working on a Garter Rib sock from SKS. It's in my handdyed yarn and I made it for the Second Sock Syndrome swap, so I make one and my partner makes the other. All I have left is to kitchener:

And I have a question -- has anyone made any of the patterns that start with a YO at the beginning of the needle? I tried the Corded Rib (4 stitch pattern, I think that was the name) and the second row of the pattern started a needle with a YO. I was pretty sure I could fudge it for myself but not for my pal so I switched to the Garter Rib. Any suggestions?

Cute sock!

Doing a YO at the start of the needle is just like doing one in the middle of the needle. If it is a YO before a knit stitch, just bring the yarn forward and then knit the next stitch. This arrangement will cause the working yarn to fall across the top of the right needle, creating the YO.

If it is a YO before a purl stitch, wrap the yarn around the right needle once (like you would do before a purl YO, looping once all the way around the needle) and then purl the next stitch.

Hope that helps:)

I love the colors in your hand-dyed yarn.

I actually made the Elongated Corded Rib, and really didn't have a problem with the YO at the start. I think I just did it like Alyssa suggested.

Good luck!
