Yarn Over Cable in Koigu Kersti Merino
I have 100g of this DK yarn so chose a toe up pattern to make sure that I got as much sock out of it as possible. I've never done short row toes or heels before so it was an education & a fair bit of tinking took place but I've got the hang of it now.
The second sock looked like this last night:

The socks are beautiful! I love the colours.
Isn't it fun the first time you do that trick and you can see it turning into a toe? I haven't got the hang of the provisional cast on yet, but I still love turning that toe :)
Great job! I still haven't tried a toe up sock yet. I'll need to put that on my list of things to do this year! I love the colorway of the yarn you chose too.
Thanks for the comments.
The yarn was sent to me by a friend in Canada & I haven't yet seen it for sale here in England. I've washed the first sock & it's sooo soft :)
Opal - thank you - I have CL in London, Ontario to thank for the colours but I totally dig it!
Helen - it's the first time I've done a s/r toe & did find it a bit odd. I found the instructions for a crochet cast on in SKS very easy to follow.
Sue C - this is the second toe-up pair I've done from the book. The first was Oriel - posted on this blog on July 8th 2006. For those I used the Turkish Cast On which I do prefer to the short row toe.
